COVID-19 have been a traumatizing experience with children, there are those who lost their parents and loved ones at a young age, there are those who severely suffered difficulties with the New Normal Education; they have encountered having difficulty in making some adjustments, learning without their parent’s guidance, and as well lack of gadget and enough budget that they need to use to access the internet. It’s just so sad to think that at their young age, they have been exposed to these traumatizing situations and experiences, especially with children who tested positive in COVID-19, they fought and survived the disease alone, but unfortunately, there are also some that unable to fight and survived the disease. Those traumatizing fears that they encountered and different scars of the COVID-19 pandemic that they got are possible for them to take those in growing up, and those can affect children’s well-being, growth, and development as a person. Quarantine measures such as school closures and restrictions on movements disrupt children's routine and social support while also placing new stressors on parents and caregivers who may have to find new childcare options or forgo work. Stigma and discrimination related to COVID-19 may make children more vulnerable to violence and psychosocial distress.
All children saw their value and it melts my
heart how the helping hands put a smile on children’s faces. And I hope that every one of us should also participate in all programs regarding protecting
children, even just a simple act or way, it will be a really great help for
them, like donating even a small or simple thing that would be helpful for
them, or even a small amount which they can use with their study because we
all know that many children are struggling with their study amidst the pandemic
because of lack of budget, lack of parental support and so on. However, let’s
still try to look for a solution that can effectively end parental neglect,
for children’s meet all their needs, like educational, physical, emotional, and
medical needs.
