IN CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS AMIDST THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, DISTANCE WILL NEVER BE A HINDRANCE

Christmas is quite different now that we are in the midst of the pandemic than it was when we were living a normal life and there was no C0VID-19 outbreak. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, events and holidays are altered. This is also due to the regulations and protocols enacted by our government, as well as the difficulty of returning home to their respective provinces and returning to our country to celebrate Christmas with their family. You have to go through many processes before you can return to your place. The continued proliferation of COVID-19 in many places is also tightening the regulations and protocols, so there are still some activities that are prohibited, such as the celebration of events and programs that are held in preparation for the celebration of Christmas.

We have been used that celebrating Christmas with our complete family is the true essence of Christmas. However, A lot of us celebrated Christmas with incomplete families, which made us not feel the essence of Christmas. Nevertheless, we should not let ourselves not feel the essence of Christmas, we can feel the essence of Christmas in a lot of ways. Such as giving love and kindness to our family and loved ones, because the true essence and spirit of Christmas are showing love and kindness as we remember and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Therefore, being incomplete in celebrating Christmas should not always be a big deal, what matters is giving them unconditional love and kindness. Distance should not be a hindrance, but we can’t really deny that it is far better if we are celebrating Christmas with our family and loved ones, but we should also make an adjustment this time. Furthermore, there are also families who welcomed Christmas with sorrow because of the loss of their loved ones.

I really wish that after all of those challenges, everyone will welcome and celebrate Christmas with faith and hope. Faith and hope that the normal and peaceful life will come, that our normal life will be back. We should not let ourselves be eaten by those challenges we faced and challenges we are still conquering. We should not despair, because there are many more Christmases we will celebrate, therefore, it’s not completely fine to feel sad, the normal life is coming.
